Consistently ranked the most liveable (and happy) city in Europe, you'll enjoy 48 hours of all the best photographic locations, pick up a new tip or two, surrounded by buzzy summertime vibes.
The 0720 from London Gatwick arrives just after ten, so we have the whole day to explore. We'll start on the waterfront, touring the Crayola-bright houses of Nyhavn, before crossing into Christianshavn - getting back to grips with our camera, and learning some trade secrets in travel photography to set your work apart from the rest. We'll stop to recharge and swing by Copenhagen's oldest bakery for the Danish of all Danishes, then climb the Church of Our Saviours Tower for views of the harbour to die for.

Later, we'll swing by the iconic Little Mermaid, switching to B&W to capture the essence of this famed waterside sculpture inspired by the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, before getting ready back at our boutique hotel for dinner and drinks in trendy Vesterbro.

This morning, we'll board our canal cruise for a peek at some of the other delights of the city - no walking required - before heading over to hipster Freetown Christiania, a former army base turned hippie community.
Christiania is a semi-bucolic wonderland of whimsical DIY homes, cosy garden plots, eateries, beer gardens and music venues, where we'll set up base to shoot portraits of it's famous characters - and introduce you to the styles and techniques of environmental portraiture. And for those into street art too, it's one of the best collections in all of Europe ...

We'll take a late lunch at the Michelin-recommended Armann Deli, famed for its meticulously crafted smorrebrod, (plus try out a few food shots), before heading to the magical Tivoli Gardens, a dreamy whirl of Victorian-era amusement rides, twinkling pavilions, carnival games and open-air stage shows. You can ride the renovated, century-old roller coaster, shoot the famous Saturday evening fireworks display or just soak up the story-book atmosphere, mastering techniques of reportage of all the joyous fun all the way up to sunset at 9.30pm.

On our last day, we'll head beneath the earth, to an underground reservoir & dripstone cave transformed into a space for art exhibitions & events.
Buried deep beneath Søndermarken's green grass is a massive underground world holding the city's most unique art space - Cistern. Currently showing work from South Korean conceptual artist, Kimsooja, we'll try out some abstract and macro images for your collection, exploring a space that once held 16 million litres of water.

Before we review our best images of the weekend, give detailed feedback on your progress, we'll take one final glimpse at this chocolate box city from the 35 metre high Rundetaarn. Not only do you get stunning views of the surrounding city, but you also get to explore a historic observatory, glance at an ever-changing series of modern art installations, and even sneak a peek at the Trinitatis Church.

We've just time for one final pastry before we board our EasyJet flight back to London Gatwick at 2100, armed with a collection of fabulous images, some new skills and friends, plus an insight into what makes Europe's most happy city tick.
