Born in the Cotswolds to a Sicilian-Welsh family, Kate Ransome is a photographer, art director and producer whose work spans the UK and Europe. After studying photography at Cardiff Met, she worked in London and Florence, where she developed both her practice and her connection to Italian culture.
Kate brings a strong visual eye shaped by art, fashion, design and the natural world. Her work has won awards, been exhibited at Tate Modern, and is known for its minimalist, tactile and quietly powerful style.
What’s the best thing food has ever taught you about a place?
“If the locals are there and people are waiting to be seated, get in line right behind them. No line. Crap food.”
As someone who loves travel, what’s your killer tip for real getting the most out of your destination?
“Allow yourself time to wander and let things unfold. Talk to people, listen to where they go. Allow spontaneity”
What’s a tiny travel ritual you’ve picked up somewhere and kept?
“Don’t know if it’s a ritual but I seem to collect tiny ice cream spoons.”
