Mike is a professional landscape and portrait photographer based in the UK. He has been the recipient of several internationally recognised awards, including winning the 2017 Photo Masters Award, Fine Art Single category at the NYPH awards, the International Photography Awards, screened work at Cannes Liones, selected for several PX3 Prix de la Photographie awards, and the RA Summer Show.
His work has been exhibited internationally at The Photographers Gallery, Dumbo New York, Singapore International Photo Festival and the Magenta Foundation in Canada.
What’s your worst travel habit?
“Saying ‘we’re nearly there’ with absolutely no evidence. My family no longer believes a word I say about distances.”
Early morning or late night in a new city?
“Early. Cities tell you the truth before 8am. Deliveries, dog walkers, the good bakeries. By eleven everyone’s performing.”
What’s the kindest thing a stranger has done for you abroad?
“Missed the last bus in rural Greece, and a woman who spoke no English drove me forty minutes home, fed me, and refused everything except a photo of her dog.”
